Tumbling/Gymnastics for Guys Ages 6-12
Parallel bars, pommel horse, vault, single bar, tumbling and trampoline are all covered in this class just for the guys aged 6-12. Time will also be dedicated to developing strength through conditioning and increasing flexibility.
Level 1 Gymnastics
Participants learn basic skills on floor, bars, beam, and vault. They also build strength and increase flexibility to help improve skills and move to the next level. They will be evaluated at the end of each session and advised when to move up to the next level.
Level 2 Gymnastics
Children will learn new skills such as bridge kick-overs, back hip circles on the bar, and jumps on the beam and will continue to develop the run for vault. Children will be evaluated at the end of each session and advised when to move up to the next level.
Level 3 Gymnastics
Children will work on new skills such as back limbers and they will begin to combine skills on all the apparatuses to form a series. Children will be evaluated at the end of each session and advised when to move up to the next level.
Kipper Training Program
Gymnasts will learn USAG compulsory competition skills on all four events: vault, bars, beam and floor exercise. To be in the Kipper Training Program the child must have successfully completed Level 3 Gymnastics. A leotard must be worn to practice, hair up and jewelry off.
Joliet Kippers Competitive Gymnastics Optional Team
Gymnasts will learn competitive routines. Completion of Kipper Training Program, purchase of team leotard, warm-ups and grips are required. Leotard must be worn to practice, hair up, jewelry off.
