Classes are specifically designed for 3 and 4 year olds, with an introduction to music, dance, rhythm, coordination, and creative movement. Each class is 45 minutes in length and combines ballet/tap or ballet/tumbling. The basic principles of body and spatial awareness, coordination, rhythm, and an overall feel for music are developed while incorporating the fundamentals of dance. These fundamentals are introduced and developed in a playful and non-competitive environment. Leotard, tights, and leather or canvas ballet shoes are required. Dance attire available for purchase at the Kathy Green Multi-Purpose Center.
This Parent/Tot Class is an introductory class for your child and you to learn basic ballet using creative music and movement with the help of different props. Balance, coordination, and flexibility will be developed. Music changes every session. All students are required to purchase a $30 recital costume. Child will keep costume after recital.
Music and dance props will encourage a "prince" or "princess" to use their imagination as they learn basic ballet steps with the magic of fairy tales. Girls should wear a leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Skirts or tutus also may be worn. Boys should wear a t-shirt, shorts, and black ballet shoes. Child should be prepared to participate without the assistance of a parent. The session focuses on learning dance techniques, routines and group work to develop a teamwork atmosphere. Child must be able to participate on their own. All students are required to purchase a $30 recital dance costume.
Ballet, Tumbling, + Tap
Basic skills will be taught in this class designed for the beginner. Correct terminology and positions will be used. Flexibility and coordination are only two of the benefits from participating in this ballet, tumbling, and tap class. Leotard, tights, and leather or canvas ballet shoes are required. All students are required to purchase $30 recital costume. Child will keep costume after recital.
